Addressing Public Concerns

In recent years the potential impact of vaccine “scares” often starting as rumors or media reports but also originating from flawed studies published in the scientific literature, have shown their potential to sow public mistrust of vaccine safety and to seriously derail effective vaccination programs worldwide. The Brighton Collaboration with its partners has begun research on the origin of such “scares” and the manner in which they develop and spread to threaten vaccination uptake in critical ways.
