Request for Review: Acute Multi-Organ Dysfunction (aMOD) Brighton Case Definition

Dear Brighton Community,

SPEAC led a Working Group to develop a new Brighton format case definition for “acute multi-organ dysfunction (aMOD)”. The working group included experts and clinicians with expertise in intensive care, sepsis and hematology. The working group looks forward to feedback from Brighton stakeholders on the useability and applicability of the draft case definition in their specific settings of vaccine safety practice.

In the past, when new case definitions were sent out for stakeholder review, the draft manuscript (intended for publication in Vaccine) was provided. In an effort to speed up the case definition development process, we now work with the expert working group to draft the initial case definition with proposed criteria and levels of certainty and get stakeholder feedback early in the process, ahead of drafting the full manuscript.  An expert peer review of the manuscript will later be sought, to focus on scientific validity of the proposed case definition.

We look forward, and will respond, to your feedback on this early draft case definition.
